Writing a letter

I’ve landed: The journey through the atmosphere was a minor inconvenience. Around me I see; blue skies, and monstrous mountains - but no sign of movement. Contact has not been initiated.

- SHIT! That was close!

Fred was swooshing down – right – left - quick right turn – and a drawn out left. With total control he zoomed through the new-fallen snow. With total precision he finished the hill and went for a drink, Hill’s Bar was the closest bar.

- Barkeep – Two blacks and a cold one.

Fred took a chair and embraced the view…

- Spectacular, he mumbled to himself.

Mountains upon mountains, cliffs upon cliffs - fueling explorers to explore, the view was indeed; spectacular. He cheered the breath-taking horizon and toke his first shot. Then putting his spectacles on the side-table and lit a cigarette, inhaled – closing his eyes, letting the sun sink deep into his skin – he exhaled.

Current location: beneath the monstrous mountains – surrounded by complexes, structured boxes of different shapes and sizes. First sign of movement! Observe and acknowledge patterns; neutral expressions to the face, two-limb based locomotion – great variety of gene pool -some grin without reason and others forget to smile. Human interaction is undefined. Conclusion; delay first contact.

The sun is dropping and residents of the town, Chamonix enter nightlife. The mountains are emptied and restaurants are filled, Fred is at Long John English – eating – finishing his supper. Beatrix began walking towards Fred’s table with distinct strides she turns many male heads – the two received contact in a duet of smiles.

- You finished Fred? - Two blacks and a cold one…Fred?

- Please and please, you know me so well Beatrix.

While mumbling profanities she turned her heels and marched away, only to return seconds later with his second order. Fred quickly drank up and left.
